This course explains the regulatory environment surrounding ammonia refrigeration systems in the United States. Students learn where safety regulations originated, why they exist, and how they apply to industrial refrigeration facilities.

Special emphasis is placed on Mechanical Integrity and the IIAR‑6 Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance Standard. By understanding these requirements, operators and engineers can better protect workers, facilities, and the surrounding community.
