ENG 160 – Pressure Vessels

Learn how pressure vessels are designed, protected, and maintained in industrial refrigeration systems.

Covers pressure vessels commonly used in industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.

Overview

Pressure vessels are critical components in industrial refrigeration systems, serving functions such as refrigerant storage, separation, and surge capacity. Because they contain pressurized refrigerants, their design and maintenance are tightly regulated.

This course introduces pressure vessel function, construction, and applicable codes. Students will learn how vessels are protected, inspected, and classified within Mechanical Integrity programs.
