Overview
Designing or evaluating an industrial refrigeration system requires more than understanding
individual components. Engineers must be able to analyze how the entire system behaves as a
thermodynamic and mass‑flow network.
This course introduces system‑level analysis techniques used to evaluate capacity, mass flow,
and energy consumption. Students apply mass balances, thermodynamic relationships, and
performance calculations to single‑stage, economized, multistage, cascade, and transcritical
refrigeration systems.
